If you already have an upgrade file, please trash this file so there will be no confusion when you begin uploading the new firmware file (called "cf_mih130_v119b.BIN"). 2.3. Double-click the Upgrade Firmware (TFTP Client) icon for XRouter Pro. Then Verify that the IP address, Password, and FileName fields are correct. NOTE: The IP address and Password of your MIH-130 should be change back to the default setting before upgrading the firmware. 2.4. Click UPGRADE to start uploading the new MIH-130 firmware. A progress bar should appear displaying the status of the firmware upload process. 2.5. After the upload process is finished, you must reset the power on the MIH-130 to let the new firmware take effect. To do this, simply disconnect the MIH-130's power supply, located on the back panel of the unit, and reconnect it. If you have any difficulties loading the new firmware onto your MIH-130, please repeat steps 2.2 to 2.5 or refer to "Trouble-Shooting the Upgrade Process" in this Read Me. 3. PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) - PPPoE is a now being used by some ISPs in certain areas to connect customers to their DSL network. If you are currently using a login program (in some areas: WinPoet, MacPoet, or EnterNet) to connect to your ISP's DSL network, please follow the steps below to connect via PPPoE. (Note: The XRouter Pro will now assume the role of your login software. Therefore, further use of the login software is not required to use your XRouter.) - To Connect via PPPoE: 3.1 Enter the Web based configuration page of the XRouter Pro. Please refer to the user's manual on this procedure if necessary. 3.2 Click on the PPPoE link in the Advance menu. 3.3 Click on the Enable button for PPPoE. 3.4 Enter your username and password provided by your ISP in the appropriate fields. 3.5 Click on the Connect-on-demand button. (This will allow the XRouter Pro to automatically connect upon an Internet request). 3.6 Click the Apply button to save the changes made. - For further information on PPPoE, please download the newest user's manual located at: http://www.macsense.com/Service/manual/index.html 3. Trouble Shooting the Upgrade Process - If you get an error stating that the file can not be opened, click the "..." side button next to the file name field. Then locate and select the "cf_mih130_v119b.BIN" file. - If you get an error stating that the XRouter Pro is not responding, check your TCP/IP settings. You might want to reboot your machine in order to release your TCP/IP numbers (this will refresh the connection between the MIH-130 and your computer). You may want to unplug and replug the power plug for the MIH-130 in order to reset the TFTP server to a ready state. - If the Ready/Test LED is flashing, this is an indication that the firmware upgrade has failed to load properly. If this happens, run the program over and reboot by unplugging the unit. This should stop the flashing LED and reset the device. ______________________________________ Copyright (c)2000 Xsense Connectivity, Inc., Macsense Connectivity
