Macsense's new ShareTalk is the solution to your Macintosh connectivity
problems. This unit allows you to connect your older printers (Apple
LaserWriters, HP Laser and inkjet printers, and similar LocalTalk-equipped
models) to the Apple iMac, G3 or new G4.
ShareTalk allows up to 8
LocalTalk devices (computers, printers, etc.) to be connected to an Ethernet
network. With ShareTalk you can share files between LocalTalk-equipped
Macintosh computers or use the device to print from your new
Ethernet-equipped Macintosh computers instead of having to purchase an
expensive new
Ethernet-equipped printer.
Setting Up
The ShareTalk device is easy to use. Simply connect the LocalTalk ports of your older Mac computers, printers
and other devices to the LocalTalk port of ShareTalk. (This can be done by
daisy-chaining each LocalTalk device with a standard LocalTalk
transceiver, such as the Macsense FastNet.) Macs and printers on the LocalTalk network will have
unrestricted access to the EtherTalk-based devices.
The Bottom Line
ShareTalk is an ideal solution for
consolidating the older components of your existing LAN (Local Area Network)
with your newer Macintosh Ethernet-equipped components.
