Reviews

Looking to get your whole office online without shelling out thousands of dollars? If so, the XRouter Pro Internet Sharing Switch offers the perfect solution. This amazing Ethernet-to-Ethernet 10/100 switch connects an entire network of up to 252 users to the Internet using only one ISP account and one Cable or DSL modem. The high-speed bandwidth is divided among the users who are online at any one time.

Cross Platform Support
The XRouter Pro supports hybrid networks of Macintosh, PC and Unix/Linux computers, and setup is a breeze. Simply run an Ethernet cable from your DSL or Cable modem into the XRouter Pro's Wide Area Network (WAN) port, and then run Ethernet cables from the XRouter Pro's LAN ports to each of the client computers.

Easy Configuration
The XRouter Pro offers a familiar, intuitive Web-based configuration. With its DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server, the XRouter Pro eliminates the hassle of typing long, messy strings of IP addresses by automatically assigning TCP/IP values to each computer.

NAT Security
Perhaps best of all, the XRouter Pro offers security levels superior to those offered with most DSL expansion services. If you are currently using a standard DSL or Cable modem, your computer is visible and vulnerable to the entire Internet. With the XRouter Pro's (NAT) Network Address Translation functionality, all outgoing and incoming requests must pass through a translation process, keeping unwanted requests from accessing your LAN. This security feature is useful in all situations, but it is especially valuable should you decide to host your own Web site using the XRouter Pro's Virtual Server function.

Internet Router and LAN Hub
The XRouter Pro also doubles as a 4-port 10/100 switch to provide networking services such as file sharing, printer sharing, and network gaming at high speeds of 10Mbps and 100Mbps.  Whether your environment is a small company, home office or a classroom, the XRouter Pro is the affordable choice for you.

FEATURES
  • Built-in Switch - Cut costs and clutter by utilizing the four N-way 10/100 base-T switch that also includes an additional uplink port.
  • Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) - No more typing in long, messy numbers. The XRouter Pro's  DHCP server automatically configures TCP/IP addresses on LAN computers.
  • Web-Based Management - Use your favorite browser, such as Netscape Communicator, Netscape Navigator, or Microsoft Internet Explorer to configure the router in minutes.
  • Virtual Server - Internet users can access WWW and FTP servers through the virtual Server mapping function of the XRouter Pro.
  • Access Control - Control access to specific web sites on your entire LAN that may be inappropriate by using the built-in Block or Allow URL Access Control Feature.
  • RIP - Send and receive RIP packets to other routers on the Internet.  XRouter Pro will learn the routes used by neighboring routers.  This can increase your XRouter Pro's routing performance.
  • Static Routing - Allows XRouter Pro's LAN to communicate with another router on the LAN and communicate with their respective LAN segment.
