Please refer to the table and notes below for proper install for your OS. If you have further questions concerning installation, please contact Tech Support. For Mac Users For the FireWire Base (QD125F) it is basically plug-and-play for all Mac OSes. For the USB Base (QD125U) please follow the following notes for your OS.
For Mac OS X 10.1 and 10.2, the USB Base (QD125U) require a firmware update before it can be made compatible. The QuDi drives shipped after October 2002, should have the firmware updated. If not, please follow the instruction below to update the firmware on the base yourself. The firmware update utility program works only on Windows 98/ME machine. Unfortunately for now, the update process is only PC-based. If you have no access to a Windows 98 machine, or if you don't want update the firmware yourself, please contact Tech Support and send back your unit and we will update it for you. To update the firmware on the QD125U,
For Mac OSX 10.2 users, other than the firmware update for the USB Base, you must install the v.1.4 driver before the USB Base can be recognized. All the files mentioned above can be downloaded from the table above. For Windows Users The newer Windows operating systems support QuDi Portable Drives natively; there is no driver needed to run. For Windows 98, however, the WinUSB 1.1 driver needs to be installed first before QuDi Portable Drives can be recognized.
